How a photograph becomes a brick relief, for works the studio makes from an image. Ten steps, true of every piece.

   The photograph

   One image, yours or the artist's. Nothing is added to it.

   The palette

   Every colour is one a genuine brick is made in; every part is in stock the day it is designed.

3. 03

   The reading

   The studio decides what is subject, what recedes, and how deep - in plate steps.

   The codex

   Every mould the studio may place is measured once: footprint, height, grip, colours. 316 so far.

5. 05

   The grammar

   Parts join only in ratified ways; a stroke is claimed whole before anything is placed.

6. 06

   The laws

   Contained, seated, held, clear, in stock - or never shown. That is provably: the design is proven here; the build is inspected against it at the bench.

   The price

   Every part at a real price. A piece that cannot be ordered is never priced.

   The book

   Written from the same file as the design, page by page, for a stranger's hands.

   The hands

   Built to order by the studio's builder, bonded, mounted, photographed, shipped insured.

    The record

    What the run wrote about itself - the engine that made it, its parts, its levels, its file's fingerprint - stays with the piece and prints on its certificate. Today the engine is 0.14.

What the studio has taught the machine to do, under laws that never bend. Every piece carries the version that made it; the number moves only when a piece would build differently - how many times the laws have changed, then the capabilities and upgrades admitted under them.
