  1. The dayThe United States at 16:00 New York, from the weather satellite 35,786 km up. The first complete scan after the bell. What the sky did that afternoon is the piece.
  2. The pictureSea flat, its tiles turning with the hour's sea temperature. Land in the scan's own colours, raised by height. Cloud at the height the instrument measures: white where the top is ice, grey where it is water. In winter the bell falls after sunset in the East: the coast in black, the cities in yellow.
  3. The moneyOne bill per hundred dollars of the close, piled at 11 Wall Street. The session's minutes lay them, bill by bill. A calm day is one pile; a wild day throws bills. 7,666.60: 76 $100 bills.
